The Ride.

Ride Sierra Leone: The Grand Tour will take place November 9th - November 16th 2019.

Cycling between 72 - 108km a day, you will travel across Sierra Leone along stunning, orange, mud-packed roads.

From bustling towns, lush green landscapes, and on to one of Sierra Leone’s most beautiful beaches -  this ride is an opportunity to experience all that Sierra Leone has to offer.

The cause.

Ride Sierra Leone events are organised by the charity Street Child. Riders will get an opportunity to visit Street Child projects and see first-hand the impact that funds raised through Ride Sierra Leone could have on children and communities we support.

Ability and Fitness.

This challenge doesn't require high levels of fitness but participants should be comfortable cycling full days (approx. 60 miles) for four days in a row.

We will be cycling at a relaxed pace so we can enjoy the stunning jungle scenery and will be stopping to hydrate regularly.

You will be able to cycle at your own speed.

Terrain and Bikes.

You’ll be cycling along orange, mud-packed roads on hybrid mountain bikes. The bumpy, undulating route is a totally different experience from the smooth roads of the cities we’re used to so we recommend bring a gel saddle cover with you!

We source our bikes from a local cycling shop but if you’d like to bring your own get in touch with us at

Supported Ride.

You will be fully supported throughout your ride by our excellent local mechanic. We will also have two support cars to carry your kit and our supplies.

We will be travelling with experienced expedition medics who are on hand to deal with bumps, grazes and any medical issues that may arise.
